Fuel Delivery

The Masset Division of North Arm Transportation provides and delivers fuel to the communities of Haida Gwaii: the Masset area and Graham Island. With three tandem axel fuel trucks, we deliver home heating fuel (stove and furnace oil) for residential and commercial customers, diesel and motor fuels for retailers, logging operations, and commercial fishing vessels along with Jet A-1 to the Masset Municipal Airport (ZMT) and other aviation customers.

Fuel Storage

We currently operate from the government wharf in the Masset Inlet where we have a fuel float for delivering to fishing vessels and a fuel storage barge with a 1.2 million-litre capacity. We operate three full-size fuel tanker trucks and an onshore loading rack that is connected via dock to shore pipeline to our storage barge. Along with this facility we have a freight bulkhead, storage yard and warehouse outside of town on highway 16, which are used both for North Arm Transportation’s freight operations and storage of facility operational equipment. The yard is also used to provide storage for WCRMC Emergency Oil Spill supplies.

Fuel Products

Our office is located on the government wharf alongside the fuelling float. From this office we provide a full slate of quality Chevron lubricants in bulk and smaller quantities for both wholesale and retail customers, administration of local operations and fuel float sales. Our fuel is replenished and transferred to our storage barge via North Arm Transportation’s fuel and freight barges every four to six weeks. We are a participating member of the BC Used Oil management plan and as such we receive people’s used oil for transportation to Vancouver for recycling. Over 5 million-litres per year of gas, diesel and Jet A-1 combined moves through our operation to local customers.

Freight Facility

North Arm operates a bulkhead for loading/unloading freight just south of Masset.
